About me

I'm Sebastian Castro, a photographer and director. I look for images that breathe more than they explain.

I work in the street: people, and the places they live in. What holds me is the way someone makes a space their own, a community painting its origin onto concrete, a passenger folding into himself on the subway, a whole city that turns into a stage. I'm not after the decisive moment. I'm after the one that stays, watching.

Born in Lima, I work between Lima and Toronto. My eye comes from film and documentary: it looks slowly, it doesn't underline, it lets the image speak on its own.
